Sonoma County Landscapes

Over the last twenty years, the geography of Sonoma County has changed drastically due to the wine industry and tourism. While this has been profitable for our local economy, much of the natural landscape has been graded flat for planting vines, creeks have been damaged, native trees have been uprooted and structures such as wineries, tasting rooms, gift shops, restaurants and picnic areas have been built to accommodate visitors from around the world.

The fact that Sonoma County has been likened to the landscape of Tuscany, with mild Mediterraenean weather has also increased the population - both year round residents and vacationers. I try to preserve, in image, what remains of the original landscape - treasures that are frequently overlooked.
